Hamble Hockey Club

Hamble Hockey Club maintains its base on Satchell Lane in Hamble-le-Rice, Southampton. The pitch at the local community sports college supports training and matches for teams across various levels. The club traces its origins to 1958, when local headteacher Ken Makepeace initiated its formation. Initially focused on adult play, it soon incorporated youth elements that have since become integral. Growth over subsequent decades led to the establishment of several senior sides and an expanded junior section, reflecting sustained community involvement.

Men’s teams number four, competing in divisions suited to differing abilities. These squads include players of varied experience, allowing participation from seasoned competitors to those building skills. The ladies’ section fields three teams, similarly structured to accommodate a range of proficiencies while maintaining competitive edge in league fixtures.
